Sun Peaks is B.C.’s Fastest Growing Town. The Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality, home to Sun Peaks ski resort in the B.C. interior, reported the largest growth of all incorporated municipalities and cities in British Columbia with a 66% population increase, according to recently released Canada Census information. N.Y. Governor Commits $8M to Belleayre, Including New Gondola. New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced that the state will invest an additional $8 million for upgrades at Belleayre Ski Center in Highmount to attract more visitors and build on the Catskill Region’s tourism industry. The investment will include the installation of a new high-speed gondola and multiple lodge expansions. More. First Tracks!!

Master Plan for Northstar Approved. Northstar California Resort has announced that the Placer County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 in favor of the Northstar Mountain Master Plan.  A roadmap for the next two decades, the plan is designed to help lengthen current guest stays and provide a wider, more diverse array of terrain offerings and recreational activities at the Vail Resorts-owned ski resort in North Lake Tahoe. Upgraded Facilities and a New Highway Put WV’s Canaan Valley (WV) on the Map. It’s named for the Biblical region in the ancient Near East but a revamped conference center, increased snowmaking, a new tubing park and the completion of a highway have put the Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center, in the town of Davis, at the top of West Virginia’s map of winter fun.
