Councils:

After two years of having our annual meetings by Zoom, the board and our Whitefish and other industry partners are very excited about an in person meeting.

Lisa, Linda, and I spoke to industry at MTS regarding our meeting and they were committed to attending this year and being part of the program. More so than Lisa and I have ever heard. Recently Linda visited with representatives at the Florida Ski Council meeting and they continued to be very supportive of our meeting. This is all excellent news as our councils and clubs, like our industry partners, have struggled through the COVID pandemic and we all want to move past these years.

While there is a lot of support for the meeting this year, we are cognizant of the costs associated with attending. Thanks to the efforts of Michael Calderone, Virtual Silent Auction Chair, and Chris Gill, Membership Committee Chair and their committees we were able to waive registration fees for the first delegate of each council. However, we still have the issue of air. It is outrageous as we all know. Personally, I travelled to Whitefish last summer and air was half what I am paying this year. Obviously, when the councils voted to have our 2022 meeting in Whitefish there was no way to know that air prices would be what they are.

We are pleased to announce that Linda Walker spoke with Sara Clemons at the Florida Ski Council meeting and Sara has some thoughts on the air issue that we would like to share with everyone.
