Ikon Pass Bolsters Its Resort Portfolio With Taos Ski Valley
29 August 2018
Taos Ski Valley is the latest ski and snowboard resort to join up with the Ikon Pass for the 2018-2019 season.
The independently owned New Mexico resort is one of more than two dozen mountains in the North America and Australia to offer skiing and ‘boarding to holders of the new multi-resort season pass from Denver-based Alterra Mountain Company.
Also coming on board this winter will be two Utah resorts, Brighton and Solitude. Alterra recently completed its purchase of the latter, now giving Ikon holders unlimited skiing and riding at 11 resorts which it owns and operates. Alterra’s partnership with some 17 others – now including Brighton and Taos Ski Valley – offers up to seven days of free skiing and riding at other partner locations.
Purchasers can get either the primary Ikon Pass, which includes unlimited access to 13 destinations and limited to nine others, or the Ikon Base Pass that has unrestricted schussing at 11 resorts with up to five days at 11 other resorts.
This past summer, Boyne Highlands, Boyne Mountain,The Summit at Snoqualmie, and Cypress Mountain in British Columbia signed on as limited-pass partners.
In addition, existing partners Loon Mountain, Sugarloaf and Sunday River upped the number of free days at their resorts. The three New England resorts, which joined as Ikon Pass partners in the spring, will now offer five or seven days each on certain Ikon Pass products for the 2018-19 season.
