New JetCost App Makes Searching for Flights Actually Fun

There’s swiping, pinning, and you can save flights you want to book.

These days, travel apps are as ubiquitous as ugly sweater parties, and it can be hard to parse which ones will actually work for you, and which ones will prove frustrating to navigate when you’re hoofing it through Terminal B, just trying to find an Auntie Anne’s. (Pro tip: Always download and test an app before you actually need to use the app.) Here at Traveler, we have a few we’re partial to—and the list keeps growing.

This fall, flight comparison site Jetcost launched its new app—and it actually makes searching for flights kind of fun. A highly interactive, customizable product that gets smarter every time you use it, the app incorporates manual functions that are, by now, muscle memory (tapping! sliding! pinning!). Open the app, and search when (and where) you want to go. You’ll then see the best offers from hundreds of airlines and online travel agencies like CheapOair and JustFly, with the option to filter results by flight duration, layovers, travel class, departure time, and carriers you don’t, well, care for. The app will also save your search history (so you can remember what you searched, when) and allows you to bookmark specific flights and dates by—you guessed it—swiping. Even better? The history and itinerary can all be accessed offline.

The app lets you swipe to add a specific flight to your “itinerary.”
Currently, the free app is only available for iOS, but can be used in 16 different languages, which means you can ország kiválasztása as many times as you want. (That’s Hungarian, to you.) In case you’re looking for other apps you maybe haven’t heard of—but should definitely know about—we’ve got you covered.
