  • Description: The Perfect Mountain Town Located approximately 104 miles west of the Denver airport, in the Colorado Tenmile Range, Breckenridge unites the history of the west with the best skiing and snowboarding around. When gold was discovered along the Blue River in the 1800’s, miners flocked to Breckenridge to seek their fortune. Today, skiers and snowboarders head to Breckenridge seeking something almost as valuable, the perfect mountain town. In addition to its rich Victorian heritage, the town has over 200 restaurants, pubs, live entertainment venues, retail shops, and art galleries. The Perfect Mountain The Breckenridge Ski Resort ski area features five main peaks that are all interconnected by chair lifts. Peak 9 is home to the Breckenridge Ski Resort’s primary base area, with several après ski locations within close proximity. Mountain Characteristics Base Elevation: 9,600 feet; Summit Elevation: 12,998 feet; Vertical Rise: 3,398 feet; Skiable Area; 2,893 acres; Trails 187; 14% beginner: 31% intermediate; 55% advance/expert. Peak 6 – Awaken your Sixth Sense on Peak 6 Breckenridge Ski Resort added Peak 6 to their skiable terrain during the 2013/14 season. This huge expansion provides more above tree line skiable terrain for intermediate and expert skiers and riders. Peak 6 features a total of 543 additional acres. This expansion is one of the most notable ski area expansions in the past decade. Accommodations – We’ll be staying in the elegant Beaver Run condominiums, a ski-in ski-out complex next to the Beaver Run Super Chair and Quicksilver 6. The complex is four blocks from Main Street, and the Town Trolley and ski shuttle stop at the property. Transportation – We’ll fly Southwest Air non-stop into Denver. The party begins with a 2 hour scenic ride to Breckenridge, after a stop at the famous Applejack Wine & Spirits and groceries at King’s. With lunch on the bus, the time will pass quickly. On Jan 21, we will depart Breckenridge early for a mid-day flight home. Enjoy lunch on your own at the Denver airport.
